1st VOP Race - 09/17/99
Haw 9th, alw28600n1X, 6-1/2 furlongs, track fast. Mark
Guidry up.
Snag broke flat-footed and two lengths behind the field. She
trailed throughout the first three furlongs. Entering the turn,
Snag began to move up outside of tiring horses. She ducked down
to the rail entering the stretch, and passed a couple more
runners on the inside. She finished a badly beaten odds-on
favorite, in fourth place, nearly 12 lengths behind the winner.

2nd VOP Race - 10/02/99

Snag broke well this time, and quickly fell several lengths
behind the torrid pace. After a half mile, Snag trailed by 10.5
lengths, and she gained no ground until inside of the final
furlong. She closed almost two lengths through the stretch, but
was still a well-beaten fifth at the wire.

Snag broke alertly and battled for the lead through the first
half-mile. Approaching the quarter pole, she began to give way,
and Shane wrapped her up with 3/16ths to go. Snag galloped home
last in the field of six, 15 lengths behind the winner.

Snag broke well but was completely overmatched in this race. She

the winning time.

this race. She set the moderate first fraction, then was
overtaken by the winner entering the far turn. She battled gamely
down the stretch but was passed by two others to finish fourth, 2.5
lengths behind the winner. Snag was claimed from this race,
ending her VOP career.
