NEW FILLY

ACQUIRED FOR OUR SOUTHERN CIRCUIT

Come and join the fun of VOP with our new filly at Lone Star Park.

We've Named the new filly

L'ouragan

French translation = The Hurricane

Loup Sauvage was a highweight in France for 9.5 to 11 furlongs.  In addition to being a champion distance horse he also won the important Prix d'Ispahan at eight furlongs when he was a three year old.  During his three year old campaign, he was second twice to European champion Daylami.  At four, Loup Sauvage showed his ability on the dirt by finishing third to Silver Charm and Swain in the Dubai World Cup.  Loup Sauvage's only USA horses are just now hitting the tracks.  He's now a shuttle stallion between Chevelay Stud in England and Vinery Australia.

Pedigree page

Our filly descends from the bluehen mare, Misty Morn.  Misty Morn is the 4th dam and producer of the notable sire Bold Lad.  The dam, San Isabel, is half sister to multiple graded stakes winners Red Attack and Patches.  San Isabel is by Horse of the Year and multiple champion Alysheba. San Isabel had a promising start to her career in south Florida with D. Wayne Lukas and Overbrook Farm, but her career was cut short by injury.  She was bred to Boones Mill as a three year old and sold in for for $75,000 at the Keeneland November Sale.

The filly worked an 1/8th of a mile in 11 seconds flat at the Fasig Tipton Sale at Lone Star Park.  She worked in company and was bumped at the start but still was able to complete a fast 1/8th in the slop.

This horse is beautifully bred with the dam by a US horse of the year and multiple champion and the sire a French champion.  She is bred to go long and handle both dirt and turf.
