Kristy Lynn's Halo was claimed by the Virtual Owners Partnership on
December 19, 1996, out of a race at the Fair Grounds. He is a '93 gelding
by Thirty Six Red, out of Halomatic by Halo, bred in Kentucky by Pollock
Farm. He had a record of 4-2-1-0
$10,140 when claimed.

1st VOP Race - 01/30/97FG 6th, clm12500, 6f, track fast. Purse $9,700. Kerwin Clark up.
Nice effort for Kristy Lynn Halo's first race for VOP! Our expectation
was that there would be two or three horses out battling for the lead
in this race, with KLH laying back in the 2nd flight, but to our surprise
Kerwin had KLH up in front and on the rail within about 1/2f after the
start of the race, and sitting on a nice easy length lead. There they stayed
down the backstretch and through the turn, and took a nice two length lead
into the stretch. Despite a good run by some closers on the outside,
KLH and Kerwin hung tough to win the race by about two lengths, in more
or less wire-to-wire fashion, triggering silly outbursts at OTB's across
the nation, and rewarding the new VOP partners in Louisiana with instant
success. The grins in the Winner's Circle shot were well worth the price
of admission. ;-) Nice work, Liane!

FG 2nd, clm5000, 6f, track fast. Kerwin Clark up.
KLH got a very bad start out of the gate, got bumped and steadied, and was never in the running. Eventually Kerwin just ended up wrapping up on the horse, and he coasted home a distant last.
3rd VOP Race - 04/01/97Spt 9th, clm7500n4l, 6f, track fast. Purse $8,500. Shane Laviolette up.
KLH got a bit of a slow start out of the gate, and Shane kept him behind
the leaders for most of the distance until a good run in the stretch during
which he got the lead at the furlong marker. But he was starting to get
a little tired, and got run down from behind, losing the win by a neck.

We weren't quite sure what to expect of KLH after his long layoff, so we
gave him the easiest possible company to run against. He responded with
a very strong effort, moving to the front from the outside on the backstretch
and then moving into the lead on the turn. He stretched out his lead in the
stretch and won the race by 5 going away. Nice gutsy effort for a first race
back, KLH! And great ride from Shane. The VOP'sters on hand were so
disorganized that the win photo had to be snapped twice.

Race 4 - Winner!
5th VOP Race - 12/27/97HAW 6th, alw21000n1x, 6f, track fast. Purse $21,000. Lupe Macias up.
KLH was feeling so good after his last race, and had run such a competitive
Beyer figure, that we decided we might as well go for the gold and try the
allowance race. Lupe kept KLH close to the fast pace down the backstretch
and made a strong move at the top of the stretch to take the lead to the
stretch call, and we thought we might have a second straight winner.
Unfortunately, the pace had taken a little of the starch out of KLH and
he tired in the last few strides, and was nipped at the wire by a closer
from the inside, losing the race by 1/2 a horse. Still, another gutsy effort
by KLH and we were very proud of him.
