• 1st VOP Race - 04/13/98 Spt 9th, clm12500, 6f, dirt/fast, Shane Romero up.

Grand Point broke well and was quickly caught up in a speed duel. He raced well, at or near the lead through five very quick furlongs before tiring and giving way to finish fourth. This was a good effort off a layoff of eleven weeks by a slightly overmatched Grand Point. .....

2nd VOP Race - 04/28/98 Spt 5th, clm7500, 6f, dirt/fast. Shane Romero up.

Grand Point was dropped to the $7500 level and Liane asked Shane to try to get him to rate a bit. Shane took a tight hold of Grand Point through the first three furlongs. When asked to run, "Pointy" made a move towards the leaders, but he again faded in the stretched to finish sixth. .....

Following a short respite at Tower Farm, Grand Point was again entered at the $7500 level. This race feaured lots of early speed and Grand Point was committed to go fo r the lead. He remained in contention until the final furlong when he gave way to a rush of closers. Grand Point finished a tiring sixth. .....

4thVOP Race - 06/21/98 Spt 3rd, clm4000n1y, 6f, dirt/fast. Chris Emigh up.

In search of a win, Grand Point was dropped to his lowest level ever . As the lone speed in the race, Grand Point was gunned to the lead, then settled into a comfortable gallop down the backside. Around the turn, Grand Point stretched his lead to two full lengths. He held on gamely to reach the wire three quarters of a length ahead of his closest rival. Gra nd Point's owners could celebrate their victory for only a short time. Grand Point had been claimed again, and was headed to a new barn for the third time in 1998! .....
